Sonny Vu, CEO of Misfit Wearables. Previously, he has started and built companies most of my life and have been co-founder of Elemental Machines (life science, machine learning), Misfit (wearables; acquired by Fossil Group for $260m), AgaMatrix (diabetes, digital health), and FireSpout (natural language processing, machine learning; acquired by Ask Jeeves). Before doing startups, he worked at Microsoft Research in NLP under Kai-Fu Lee, worked on a PhD in Linguistics at MIT under Noam Chomsky, and studied Math & Linguistics at UIUC. Love finding scientific breakthroughs and when possible, investing in and helping founders build companies based on them. Passionate about the future, finding 100x solutions for big problems, investing in people.
